American Israel Public Affairs Committee

AIPAC, the American Jewish community's lobbying organization in Washington, lobbies the United States Congress and members of the administration for a strong relationship between the United States and Israel. Members of AIPAC in the Tampa community meet with their local congressmen and senators to educate them about the importance of maintaining security and safety in Israel. AIPAC also lobbies in Tallahassee regarding issues of concern to the Jewish community. AIPAC holds governmental sessions in Tampa during the year to brief the community about the issues and brings important political figures to Tampa once each year for an annual dinner.

American Jewish Committee

Founded nationally in 1906, AJC is America's oldest human rights organization. AJC recognizes that the rights of the Jews can only be protected by ensuring that the rights of all ethnic and religious minorities are protected. By serving as a bridge building agency, AJC strives to combat bigotry, anti-Semitism, racism and ignorance. Through its programming in the areas of inter-group, inter-faith and interracial relations, AJC builds relationships based on the premise that diversity strengthens and adds enrichment to our world. AJC also serves as a research and trend identification agency through its many publications, including The American Jewish Yearbook.

Bay Area Jewish Singles Council

This self dependant non-profit organization promotes social, cultural, religious, and civic involvement while serving the needs of the single population by providing interaction with other Jewish singles. Activities range from dinner parties to an Annual Beach Conference. All singles 21and up are welcome.

B'nai B'rith of Tampa Bay

Brandeis University National Women's Committee

The purpose of BUNWC is to provide financial support and growth for Brandeis University libraries, which serve a community of students and scholars in education and research. While enhancing the image of Brandeis University, a Jewish sponsored non-secretarian university, BUNWC provides the opportunity of intellectual pursuit, continuing education, community service, social interaction, personal enrichment and leadership training.

Chabad Lubavitch of Tampa

Dedicated to fighting assimilation by promoting pride and appreciation in Jewish identity and heritage, the Chabad Lubavitch movement promotes Jewish awareness through holiday programs, adult education classes, pre-school and elementary education, and day camp. Chabad also publishes a newspaper with various articles of interest.

Chesed Shel Emes

Chesed Shel Emes is a volunteer communal organization that is responsible for the highest form of mitzvot, caring for the ill and deceased. The Chevre Kaddisha division ritually prepares the deceased for burial, serves as Shomrim, or honor guards, to remain with the deceased reciting psalms until the funeral and sends condolence cards to the deceased's families. The Bikhor Cholim division visits the sick, hospital-bound ill and nursing home patients incorporating special holiday programs and providing information for the appropriate institutions' pastoral libraries. The Chesed V'Emet division deals with specific acts of charity such as scholarship programs, a Passover foods program and Hanukkah Toys for Tots.

Hadassah

Hadassah is a women's Zionist organization in America with the objective to help Jews in Israel and enhanceand expand Jewish commitment and identity in the United States. The Tampa and Ameet chapters support the world-renown Hadassah Medical Organization in Israel for its healing, teaching and research as well as various technical colleges and career counseling institutes in Israel. Hadassah offers study groups, meetings, guest speakers on health and nutrition and programs to enrich the family structure. Men are also welcome as associate members.

The world-wide Israel Bond Organization is an investment arm of the State of Israel whose purpose is to raise development capital for Israel through the sale of Israel Bonds and other financial instruments. Israel Bonds has secured more than $15 billion in capital since the first Independence Issue in 1951. Funds derived from these investments create jobs by building industry and infrastructure. Tampa Bay's Israel Bonds office furthers our community's identification with Israel through exciting events and speeches from Israeli dignitaries and other interesting people from all walks of life.

Jewish National Fund

JNF is a trustee of, and a link between, the land of Israel and the Jewish people. JNF fosters the bond between the people and its land by reclaiming land for afforestation, housing, tourism, recreation and agriculture, constructing water conservation sources, building roads, providing employment,and promoting Zionist education in order to benefit every Israeli. Funds raised by the JNF are used to plant trees, conserve water resources and continue the aforementioned development responsibilities.JNF provides educational programming for children, college students and adults as well as organizing missions to Israel for all age groups.

N'Shei-Chabad Women

Under the auspices of Chabad Lubavitch, adult women meet for study and discussion to understand and enrich their lives as Jewish women. Topics have included challah baking, holiday rituals and mysticism.

National Council of Jewish Women

The Tampa section of NCJW is part of the oldest national Jewish women's organization promoting issues important to women, children, senior citizens and Israel. NCJW is a volunteer program inspired by Jewish values to work througha program of research, education, advocacy and community serviceto improve the quality of life and to ensure everyone's individual rights and freedoms. The Tampa section of NCJW offers a women's Passover seder, the Home Instruction Preparation for Preschool Youngsters program (HIPPY), Promote the Vote program, Parents as School Partners program and also provides scholarships for post-secondary education.

The Center is dedicated to advancing public awareness, education and understanding of the Holocaust, honoring the memory of millions of innocent people who suffered, struggled and died in the Shoah. Their competent, confidential Counseling services for individuals, groups and families emphasize Jewish philosophy and values. Clients of all faiths are charged on a sliding scale of income. Supportive services include resettlement to Jewish immigrants, volunteer services, home visits to the elderly or disabled and an appropriate referral network. The Tampa Orlando Pinellas Jewish Foundation (T.O.P.) is the supportive Foundation of the Federations from each respective community and is dedicated to safeguard and strengthen the Jewish community. It provides financial resources and assistance to these communities, their agencies and institutions in the achievement of their immediate and long-term goals through endowments and planned giving. Comprised of donor advised funds and endowment funds, T.O.P. facilitates the process for donors making gifts to the agencies in which they express interest. Utilizing a variety of planned giving strategies, T.O.P. can assist individuals, families and institutions achieve their charitable giving goals in the most tax-advantaged manner. The Tampa T.O.P. UJA/Federation Campaign
The annual UJA/Federation campaign is conducted on an annual basis. Monies raised are allocated to Jewish agencies and organizations in Tampa, Israel and over 50 countries around the world.

Women's American Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (O.R.T.)
Established in 1971 in Tampa, ORT is a fundraising organization supporting students in technical schools throughout 52 countries. ORT offers its expertise in computer science, child rearing and languages while each program includes Judaic studies and Hebrew. ORT has trained over 2.5 million people with 90 marketable skills, from hairdresser to nuclear engineer.
