Services we offer the community:

Free loan of the following displays/items:

  • G.I's. liberating Concentration Camps
  • Jewish Medal of Honor Recipients
  • Jewish Chaplains in the military
  • Jewish women in the military
  • DVD of the History of Anti-Semitism (one hour)

(We request that you mention our organization and agree to replace anything lost or damaged)

Speakers who will talk about their experiences in the military. We have been to public schools, local Jewish organizations, their religious school, and local retirement homes.

Our current activities at the Haley VA Hospital include:

  • Donated several thousand dollars to Fisher House, the Haley House and Helping Hands
  • Donated several hundred dollars worth of new children's blankets and new stuffed teddy bears to Fisher House
  • Annual collection of warm clothing and blankets for homeless veterans
  • Donated several hundred dollars to the VA Hospital Nursing Home
  • Donate surplus baked goods to units of the VA Hospital
  • Made over 280 sandwiches distributed at a stand-down for homeless veterans
  • Purchased one-year subscriptions to the Tampa Tribune for Fisher House
  • Organized the first social event, a cookout, for the families at Fisher House
  • Donated two new electric Menorahs to Fisher House and the Internet Café (SCI unit)
  • Donated a new DVD/VCR unit to the Internet Café
  • Donated several hundred dollars for the purchase of DVD movies
  • Donated a new Wii game to the Internet Café — excellent therapy for SCI patients
  • Organized cookouts for SCI & trauma patients and their families as well as Fisher House guests

Our accomplishments include:

  • Donated a new TV and menorah to the Lopez Nursing Home
  • Sponsored Boy Scout Troops
  • Dedicated a plaque honoring JWV officers at the Tampa JCC
  • Served on committees at the James Haley VA Hospital
  • Served on the Hillsborough County Veterans Committee
  • Donated phone cards to hospitalized veterans at the VA Hospital
  • Conducted ice cream socials and volunteered services at the VA Hospital
  • Served as guest speakers at many public schools in the area
  • Donated substantial funds to Haley House, providing rooms to visiting families
  • Donated a nursing scholarship to the VA Hospital to help maintain staff
  • Conducted programs at Weinberg Village on Memorial Day
  • Visit wounded military and veterans at the VA hospital
  • Donated a Passover Seder Plate, Kiddush Cup and Matzo Cover to the VA hospital
  • Helped conduct Passover Seders and Chanukah parties at the VA hospital
  • Placed American flags at graves of JWV at several cemeteries in Hillsborough County
  • Sent packages to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan containing movies, books and games
  • Donated gifts and participated in Christmas parties at the VA hospital
  • Contributed funds to establish a Hospice Room at the VA hospital
  • Donated substantial funds for hurricane relief last year and this year
