About the JWV
- Responsible for initiating Jewish military chaplains in 1917
- Responsible for requiring Star of David grave markers on Jewish Graves in 1927
- Active politically before and during WWII
- Organized a national blockade of German merchandise in 1932, which was picked up by Europe and almost bankrupt Nazi Germany
- Sold $250 million in bonds and purchased seven fighter planes in 1941
- Active politically in the creation of Israel
- Collected 50,000 pints of blood for Korean troops in 1952
- Contributed $100,000 to build a JWV forest in Israel in 1983
- Funded and built chapels at the US Army Military Academy and the Naval Academy (2008)
- Presented American flag pins to new citizens of the USA
- Active politically in Veterans Affairs including appearing before Congress yearly
- Protect against discrimination in the military
